Substitute Wages
As of January 1, 2024Substitute Teacher training will be held prior to starting. All applicants will be required to have fingerprint clearance through NYSED. Work hours are dependent on the school and who you are substituting for.
Hourly
Lifeguard/School Monitor: $15.50
Food Service Helper: $15.50
Cook: $15.50
Custodian/Cleaner: $15.50
Student Workers- Maintenance (age 16 and over for the summer): Prevailing NYS min wage
Per Diem
Teacher/Clerical/Individual Aide: $120
LPN: $120
Teaching Assistant: $120
Teaching Assistant (25+ days): $125
Uncertified Teacher: $125
RN: $140
Certified Teacher: $140
Certified Teacher (25+ days): $200
Certified Teacher (90+ days): GTA Salary Schedule Step 1
GCS Retiree Substitute Teacher: $150
Tutoring
Uncertified Tutor: $30.00
Certified Teacher Tutor: $40 (1 student) / $60 (2-4 students)
Note: Elementary tutored students receive 2 hours of tutoring (10 hours per week) and 1/2 hour prep time per day. Middle/High tutored student receive 3 hours of tutoring (15 hours per week) and 1/2 hour prepr time per day.
