Young 5's Program

Gouverneur Central School is excited to announce that the district will once again be offering the “Young Fives Program” during the 2024-2025 school year. The program will be located at Gouverneur Elementary School with Mrs. Pamela Mahay assigned as the Young Fives teacher.
The goal of this program is to give our “younger” children more time before they enter kindergarten.

Complete your child's registration information by April 4, 2025, for them to be included in the initial selection process for the 25-26 Pre-K program

New Student Registration Process

Enrollment Public Statement

  1. Please call the registrar at (315) 287-1949 to notify them you have moved into the district.
  2. Fill out the following student registration forms online.
    Please complete and return all forms at the same time.
  3. Bring the following required documents to your appointment only if you didn't upload them with the Documents Attachment form above:
    • Birth Certificate (please do not provide a Social Security Card)
    • Immunization Records
    • Proof of Residency - Purchase Offer/Lease Agreement/Rental Agreement or Utility Bill with your name and address on it
    • Proof of custody or guardianship if you are not the birth parent
    • Foster care children must be registered by their caseworker
    • Name, address, phone number and fax number of the school you are coming from
    • Copy of the last school report card, which can be requested if you don't have one
There are many students who have special learning needs and these are addressed through Special Education. The range of special education supports varies based on the needs of the student.
